A Curious Mind

Unconventional, unorthodox, unprecedented, unexplored.
Differentness, uniqueness, specialness, one-of a kind(ness).
That which I crave is that which I fear.
Uncertainty, unknown, uninhibited, unfettered mystery.
And yet, and yet, I find so many turn away from mystery, from the unknown, from the untraversed, uncharted.
Why? Isn’t the promise of discovery which keeps me alive?
That and that alone? The expanded sense of possibilities, alternatives. Banish the banal. Mediocrity is a menace.
Inquiry and imagination are steadfast companions, my best friends.
Why quell the voice that says, I don’t know. I really am not certain. Let me stay with the questions a little while longer, because I believe the answers will come.
Say little, do even less.
Until it is clear what must be done.
